Hi all,
I have an old RU890(=TS1000).

The last couple of months my Pronto seems to use up the batteries much faster as it did before.
My batteries (non-rechargeables, Varta, Duracell, the highest avail. capacity) usually lasted a year. But now I have to replace them every four to six weeks. Does anyone know, why this could be?

I guess that it could be the aging of some components, leaking electricity somewhere. Anyone with similar problems? And solutions?

Thanks in advance,
Markus

PS: I just measured the current of my Pronto (taken in the battery compartment):
Standby (display off): 0.07mA
Display on, no lights: 10mA - 14mA
Display on, no lights, while changing screen: ~20mA
Display & background light on: ~40mA
Transmitting IR: additionally ~6mA
Unfortunately didn't I do this while my Pronto was still okay, so I can't compare. What are your values? Much below?

Note: 0.07mA in standby, with an assumed batt. capacity of 3000mAH gives me a pure standby time of ~5 years...
