Hi y`all.
Just wondering what everybody uses their pronto`s for. As i`m still learning, mine is soley to make my life easier (wife`s a bit of a technophobe)Everything is already preset, so it`s just watch tv or watch dvd. My pronto controls a tv, xbox, pace cable box (via redeye), amp and sub.

My Marantz is very happy as a secondary control to my AMX system. I just use the and IR interface to trigger AMX events.

AMX is a high end control system. The system is modular, so you can add stuff to control anything you want, and needs a professional installer/programmer to set-up. It can cost any where from a few thousand to the price of a car or even a cheap house (depending on how fancy you want to get)

Or even a moderately priced home..... $250k+ is very obtainable with an AMX system... Hell the 350DVD server with a couple clients will run you 32k+
Need a 900 DVD server with Raid 5 Backup? 60k....
(no, I dont have that.........)

I carry a TS1000 with an irritatingly dim backlight with me all the time. I use it to create files for new components when I run into them.
I can take these files and use them with Marantz or Pronto remotes. If I make a new component file on a Marantz, its larger screen makes a problem when I try to use it on a Pronto.
It is also nice to have it with me because when a client is not sure that they want to pop for the expense of any type of Prontoid remote, I can take a few minutes and program two macros: DVD or satellite, and System Off. Like any good pusher, I will give them a free taste....
