Hi, whilst the screen display shows devices it no longer switches, any info as to a reset other than the paperclip as it nor a firmware flash has worked?

You could try doing a calibration in setup, probably won't work but worth a try. Be sure to use a pointed object and not your finger.

Jim, can you please explain how to do a calibration, is on the PC as the RC5000 screen is locked on the home screen.
I have flashed the firmware repeatedly in Touch Screen and pressed the reset, I feel that as it just happened for no reason it may well be game over.

It's on the remote in the setup menu. Hold the Pronto icon - oh crap, your screen isn't responding is it. Duh, my bad. I guess trying to calibrate something that wouldn't respond wasn't such a hot idea either.

An alternate possibility is a loose connection inside the remote. Depends on how comfortable you are cracking the case. It takes a a #7 Torx screwdriver and there's another screw hidden under the lable on the back.

Hiya, if the worst comes to the worst, you might need a new screen. If you hurry you can get one on ebay from BSOVEREIGN. I just ordered one from him (for a spare) for $40 + $6 to ship to the UK.

1)I would try leaving out the battery over night
2) you can still get into calibration using the hard buttons

While holding [LIGHT], [LEFT] and [RIGHT] at the same time:
Press [MUTE]
Press [CH+]
Press [MUTE]
Press [CH+]
Press [VOL-]
Release the [LIGHT]key before releasing [LEFT] and [RIGHT].
...

Try this link first, you might have a loose connection. Good luck.

Second hand unit turned up yesterday, great, older model with light sensor, stripped it, cleaned it, flashed it and working well, very chuffed.
I am still awaiting the new screen and hopefully this will bring the other back to life.
