I have the TSU6000, I have not had a problem learning any other button but the record button on two different VCR's. Can these buttons be learned?

Record buttons can be learned (at least I haven't heard of any that can't).

Many VCRs have protection to keep you from accidentally triggering record. Some have two buttons on the remote that must be pressed together to send the record function. Some require you press the record button twice in a row and only send the function the second time. Some require you to hold the record button pressed longer than an ordinary button.

If you were confused by one of the above (or some other) safety feature you might do the learning process incorrectly because of that confusion.

Have you checked for CCF files for those two VCRs or similar model numbers? That might be easier than getting the learn to work.

You ought to mention the brand and models of the two VCRs when asking questions like these, since someone might recognise them and give a more specific answer.

if you have not yet gotten it to work,
1) press record and keep pressing (in most cases it does not do anything
2) press the record button on the Pronto
3) press and hold the play button
4) when you get that the Pronto has learnt the code release play
5) release record

IS THERE SOME WAY WE CAN ENGRAVE THIS MESSAGE ON THE INSIDE OF THE FOREHEADS OF EVERY PERSON WHO ASKS US QUESTIONS? THEN THEY WILL JUST HAVE TO ROLL THEIR EYES UP BEFORE SUBMITTING QUESTIONS AND THEY WILL SEE THIS SUGGESTION ! ! !

NOT HAVING DETAILS LIKE THAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST DRAGS WHEN WE WANT TO HELP AND GIVE WORTHWHILE ANSWERS! ! ! !
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
