Because it now doesn't work anymore. One morning about to watch TV I found that it was completely dead as in no on screen display or anything. I tried new batteries and still nothing. Its been this way for about 5 months and I'm just now trying to attempt to fix it. Can't find Marantz customer support either and I did call Phillips but they didn't even know what I was talking about. Please HELP!!!

Please clarify your problem. Had you attempted to make any changes to the unit prior to this problem? Do any of the hard buttons work? Do you get any beeps?

I agree, if you are trying to use it to fly to the moon. It won't get you very far. It's silly like that.
