I have the Pronto Pro, and have 2 devices that operate on RF. I can't seem to get the Pronto to operate those devices. It learns the codes..but wont' turn them off or on. Nothing happens. Can the pronto opertate these devices?

The ProntoPro cannot learn RF but there are other ways to capture RF codes and convert them to CCF hex codes.

And despite what the FAQ here says, the ProntoPro can operate RF devices if they use the same RF frequency (418MHz in N. America - 433.92MHz elsewhere) and if they use ASK/OOK modulation.

What are the devices?

What are the FCC ID numbers on the RF remotes for the devices?

The devices I'm trying to control are a ceiling fan, and an A/C. Both have remotes..but both are RF. Or I think they are RF. Because both do not operate when the Pronto learns the commands.

If they are RF, the remotes will have an FCC ID number on them. You can use the FCC ID number to learn what frequency they use. What are the brand names?

It is unlikely they use 418MHz but there are still ways to control them from your ProntoPro using RF2RF converters.

What is a RF 2 RF converter? Where can I get one? My A/C is a sharp. WHere can I find the FCC IC number? I don't see one on the remote.

My A/C is a sharp.

It's probably IR. My son has a Sharp A/C and it uses IR.

WHere can I find the
FCC IC number? I don't see one on the remote.

If there is no FCC ID number on the remote, it is either being sold in violation of FCC rules or uses IR.

If he has a ceiling fan and A/C that use RF, the FCC ID numbers should be on the original remotes for the ceiling fan and A/C. The remote contains the RF transmitter and it is the transmitter that requires FCC certification tests before it can be marketed in the US.

There are several ceiling fans that are RF operated. I list several FCC ID numbers on my web pages. I have two fan remotes on my work bench right now that users sent me so I could capture the RF codes. All the fan remotes I have seen have the FCC ID number molded into the plastic case back.

I have yet to encounter an RF controlled A/C but there may be some.

I found the celing fan FCC number, IN2TX02, Freq 310. But the remote for the A/C maybe be RF, but if still won't work the A/C when the pronto learns the commands...not sure why? Can you help with either?

I can help with the fan if you are willing to send me the original remote for a few days so I can capture the codes.

You will need to build a 418MHz-to-310MHz RF2RF converter like the the second project on my Multi-Board Projects page.

My e-mail address is in my profile. Send me an e-mail and I'll give you a list of the components you will need.

I'm trying to operate my ceiling fan (Hampton Bay) with my Pronto Pro 7000. Is this even possible?? What additional equipment do I need to buy?

Possible? Maybe, but unfortunately the program that was used to support this, CodeGen, is no longer available. Dave Houston, the author, pulled it from his web site and has not been around for a long time. So unless you have the knowledge/ability to record the RF signal and translate it, then devise an RF to RF converter to match frequencies you probably won't be able to do this.
