Pronto can't seem to learn these codes, which probably means they are outside the learning range, but inside the possible output range (as I learned from FAQ). 4.0.5 does not support the KLH receiver. Searching the remotecentral did not turn up anything either.

And your question is??????

Just kidding. But I have one though. Is this the only remote that you are having problems with? Also, did you check the file section for NEAR model numbers? Do you even know what company makes it? It's certainly not Best Buy, they just put their name on it and sell it.

I doubt this is outside the learning range of the remote. These situations are very rare. First, learn on the remote, not through the software, then upload your ccf to the computer. Second, if you have a TS1000 or TSU2000, you do understand that the learning eye is on the REAR of the remote? Third, if all else fails, there are some tips and tricks to learning IR codes in the "features" section of this site.

Thank you for replying. I am trying to learn with the remote (how can you learn with the software?), I understand where the eye is, and I have read the IR Learning part of the FAQ. I called the KLH service center in the US, at 877-799-0863, and they say that this remote can not be used with Universal Remotes. They did not seem to have any specific techincal explanation for this, and if true, I would like to understand why.

Thanks for pointing this out, but I tried it and it is not compatible with the R3100 (nothing happens when used). Here is some learned IR from the 3100 remote. Is this of any use?

I'm running into the same problem with this receiver. I guess that's what you get with a $79 receiver. I just use it to drive the speakers on my deck, so it's not a big deal, but it's irritating nonetheless.
