Which salesman is offering it at that price? An earlier thread indicated that they had increased the price to $280.

Actually, he didn't give me his name, or if he did, I didn't catch it. I read the $280 thread, so I told the salesman that the offered price of $299.00 wasn't the price I saw on remotecentral.com. He said, "Oh, the $269 price. You know, I hate that board. One salesman offers a price and then everyone wants it."

I'm guessing that if you don't get the price you want the first time, tell them you need time to think about it and you will call them back. If they don't offer the $269 price, then just call back and try another salesman. I didn't even have to ask for the price, he knew it without any prompting after starting with the $299 price.

I made this purchase this morning (12/24/00) at about 8:30 eastern.

On Saturday, I had noticed that J&R had them back in stock so I ordered one. I had seen on a previous thread that someone had managed to get one for $255 for TSU2000 and $55 for the charger. I called and spoke to Jose at ext. 1021 and mentioned remotecentral and he could only go 269 and 69. I read him the message off of the thread that mentioned the lower price. He then went and checked with his manager who okayed getting at $255 and $55. I took the slow shipping and the total came to 328 and change. Good luck.

I agree, in general when ever getting a price or service it's always worth rolling the dice again and trying again. It's amazing the difference in service you sometimes get.

Woohoo!!

I too just ordered mine for $269 after mentioning this site and thread. Spoke to Alex (x1023). He initially quoted me a price of $299. I got the docking station for $55 as well and with 2-day air shipping the total came to $345!!

Merry Christmas to me... Merry Christmas to meeee...
Thanx to all for the heads up on this cool toy!!

I just recieved mine today and paid $269 unfortunately the chain store where I bought the 1000 for $249 will probably be a little sad. Amazing that they were trying to wack me for $399 for the 2000 without the base. Also they started at 299 at JandR when I called.

They gave me the TSU2000 for $255 and the charger for $55 after a small haggle and mentioning this site. I'm not a great negotiator by any means, but I think I got a good price!

J&R is cool!!!

I just purchased my TSU2000 for $269 from Kenny at J&R. I tried for the $255 price, but he said no one purchased the remote for $255 from them. Which salesman did you buy it from Mark? Anyways, I am happy with the $269 price.

I just got off the phone with Alex (ext. 1023). J&R has the remote in stock and Alex gave it to me for $265 plus the docking station for another $55. It's still a great deal!

This is the second time RemoteCentral has helped me negotiate a great deal...Great website Daniel.

Tried getting one from etronixs (RC sponsor), they said $299.00 or else. Don't like begging for good price either (bye J&R). Well.., I checked ADI, a security equipment supply chain. That's where I'v bought original 1000. It turns out that they already have new pronto units for around $245.00 and docking stations for $45.00. Now, since they're trade only, you either have to have a friend in security business (alarm guy anyone) or go to the store and buy it as store sale. That is not such a problem as it seems, because there is plenty of the stores (117)nationwide. To locate the store go to http://www.adilink.com/. Now if anyone asks, I don't know you people.

You can just be a walkin customer to the ADI place and buy a Pronto? There is one located near me, but wanted to make sure

Well, yes and no. It really depends on the store manager. I would say, if they have it in stock, then yes, you can walk in and buy, if not, can't say if they will be willing to order. Use your charm.
