I know many setupcodes for many ADBs, however, I don't know the modelnumber of your ADB nor I know the modelnumber of your OFA. This makes it difficult to help you. It will also help to know who is your cable provider.

Can you give us some more information please?

I don't know this ADB model, but I will try to contact a friend of mine who still works for OFA, perhaps he can lookup the correct setup code in their database. As soon as I have more information I 'll let you know.

I 've received an awnser, the correct setupcode for the ADB ABQ-6940 is the cablecode 1082.

However, most OFAs needs to be upgraded with this code before you can enter it.

What model OFA remote do you have?

Some can be upgraded by .wav file.

Those and others can be upgraded by JP1 cable.

The data for this upgrade is not in any of the places that the JP1 group normally gets data, so you may need the upgrade from OFA rather than do it yourself. But if you have a learning remote you can make the upgrade yourself via JP1 cable without outside data. Also Rob often finds data for JP1 upgrades in these cases.

I don't live in US .. stay in Singapore.

If you have a USA model that upgrades by .wav file then OFA provides that by phone rather than internet, which may be a problem from Singapore.

If you have any model upgraded by JP1 cable then OFA does that by mail in, which would be a problem from Singapore.

Those are advantages to "do it yourself" with your own JP1 cable or using JP1 software to make a .wav file.

If you become a JP1 user, I will get the data for that code for you.

I am not sure what's JP1, can shed more lights in this?

my OFA remote is URC9960 Kameleon 8-in-1. I am not sure if it's USA model, but a fellow friend who tried to upgrade with a new code 1063 from OFA support through playing of sometones over the phone, find that it's not working either.

I am not sure how did you guys get code 1082 while my friend was given 1063.

Well, I can't say I 'm surprised to hear that 1063 doesn't operate the ADB ABQ-6940 when cablecode 1082 is supposed to be the one to work.

The URC-9960 is an USA model and the supporthotline is also in the USA. However, I contacted a former collegue who still works for Universal Electronics BV (UEBV = European headquarters of Universal Electronics) in the Netherlands and they do their own research for setupcodes.

So please dial the hotline again and this time ask for a download for cablecode 1082.

Look at the JP1 forum on Rob's wed site
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

From there (or from the link in Rob's signature above) you can learn all about JP1.

You can buy or build a cable that lets you program the 9960 directly from a PC, including creating and installing upgrades similar to or better than the one OFA can install for you over the phone.

The free JP1 software can also be used to create .wav file than can be used for upgrades without needing the cable. That way is harder to learn to use than JP1 with the cable, and it can't analyse learned signals (which is the way to figure out what an upgrade ought to be if you can't find that answer over the internet). But it is totaly free, no cable and no phone call to OFA support. And it still gives you more flexibility to customize the upgrade the way you want it than you'd get from OFA. (The phone call to OFA only costs what your phone company charges. OFA doesn't charge for support).

Hey Zenkins,

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you want the code for an Israeli cable box when you live in Singapore? Are you sure that 1082 is the right code for you?

I also have a similar problem. The only way around this is to use the IR learning cpability. I purchased my Kameleon from USA and downloading the code 1082 over the phone did not solve the proble. May be we are not told by the local Starhub cable regarding the correct model of ADB. I am exploring the possibility of procuring a JP1 cable and try out with this method.
