I am new to the forum and tried to read as much as I could before I posted this. I have the new RS 15-2116 remote but am unable to get it to work with my JVC RX6010V A/V Receiver. I would appreciate any assistance anyone could provide. If there is something else I need to read please let me know.

GL,
"unable to get it to work with" has gotten a wide variety of use here. Have you tried the code search procedure, and if so, why don't you give a small recap of how you did that? Did you successfully get other devices programmed? Which device button did you try the code search with? Did you try the device setup codes listed in the manual?

First, thanks for your response. I have programmed the following devices: Sony TiVo, Mitsubishi TV, JVC DVD, JVC 2nd TV on aux, and Scientific Atlanta Cable Box. I have tried programming the receiver in question with the amps and rcvr device buttons. I also used the code search procedure and also entered in 3 JVC receiver codes I saw on a Radio Shack/OFA remote site that has been referenced here. The other devices were quite easy to program and everything is working very well to date with those devices. The JVC receiver was part of a package that included a Bose surround sound speaker system. Thanks in advance for any assistance you could provide and sorry about the lack of information in my original post.

GL,
OK, we can rule out making a mistake in doing the code search procedure, you seem to be pretty adept at doing that.
I checked devices.xls, and only found 4 amp/receiver device setup codes attributed as being ones used by JVC. Of course, that doesn't mean that for your receiver they didn't use something different. Have you tried: 0074, 0078, 0331, and 0464? I don't think I have to remind you to make sure you're assigning to an audio/receiver type key, even if you have to reasign one as such. Don't just use the power button for that search as an indicator of whether or not one works. Maybe use the "volume+", and "1" since a lot of outfits will use the numeral keys for input selects.
If one of those won't work anything on your receiver, check the pronto files here at remote central and see if someone has posted a pronto ccf file with your device (or one you think might use the same code). If you find one there, save the link, and post it back here, and someone can decode it to UEIC format and see if there's a device code that matches it. If you find one of the 4 at least works some of the functions, you can check back at rob's site to get advance codes to fill in any missing functions. Good luck, you've done a pretty good job so far.

Jim

The only code for a JVC audio device that the 2116 accepts is 0331. But you need to change RCVR to AMP, then 0331.

Hmmm, the idiots who select the device codes screwed up again and left out the rcvr/0074 code, which you need. They need to either put more ROM in these things or reduce the number of semi-useless combo codes that they put in. I'm still waiting for EFCs for combo codes, which should be showing up soon.

Ironically, the best code db IMHO is in the 2104, which is a crappy remote in terms of design and usability.

Anyway, I suggest you get JP1 and add the code yourself.

Thanks for all of the replies. I have used 0331 and it works with limited success which is fine with me for right now.
