Everytime I turn off my Samsung 709 Macrovision appears and I have trouble recording my DVD to VHS/VCR? How can I do this?

You need to pass the video thru a device that will strip out/ignore the macrovision.
I have two that do this.
One is a Sima SVS-4 A/V switch. It doesn't advertise that macrovision blocking is one of it's features, but so far I haven't found a DVD I couldn't record if the signal was passed thru the SVS-4 first.
The other is also a SIMA. It's their "CopyMaster". I got mine a few years back at a Best Buy store. It has Svideo and Composite video inputs and outputs, and is designed specifically to stabilize the video signal to make copying reliable (and defeat macrovision).
Have fun.
