I have a Denon DVD player (DVD1000) and the 0059 device code doesn't seem to work. I have tried all DVD and LD device codes and the device code search method provided in the manual with no results. I have heard that sometimes a VCR code will work. Has anyone had any success or have any ideas? Thanks for the help

What remote are you trying to program, and when you say that the 0059 code doesn't work, do you mean that the remote doesn't accept it or do you mean that your DVD player doesn't respond to it?

Thanks for the reply Rob. The remote is a Cinema 7. It accepts the 0059 code, the DVD player just doesn't respond to it

Try this, program the CD button to device code 0003, then try advanced code 038, this should be the code for POWER, if it works I'll give you the rest of the codes.

Here's how you would try the code, once you've programmed the CD button to 0003, hit the SETUP button immediately followed by the numbers 0-3-8. Holding the final digit is the same as holding the original button, so if you would normally need to hold the POWER button down, hold the 8 button down.

SCORE!......The 0003 code worked. I was able to power down with the 038 advanced code. Just for grins, I went ahead and tried the buttons on the C7 using the device code you provided and it was a no go. Any advanced codes that I could squeeze in there before I have to get into the learning memory would be great. I went to HiFi-remote.com to try and save you some trouble and leg work but I could not find any. Thanks again
