Could someone shed some light on what the Home Theater
button on the Producer 8 does and how does it work?

This is just a guess. I don't own a Producer8.

Sounds like a "macro" button. You probably can program a sequence of button presses from all the remotes required to turn on, switch inputs, etc., of all the devices in a complex home theater installation.

I do basically the same on my much cheaper Cinema7 remote. I've got the L buttons programmed to run unique command sequences for watching DSS, DVD, TV channels, VCR movies, and Radio Listening. Each involves turning on the amp, switching it to the right source, turning on the source device, turning on the TV if needed and switching it to the right input.

Very Useful Feature (VUF)if your home theater requires more than one remote to get going.

Sam,
I have added the Home Theater mode to the manuals on my site now.

Rob.
