Have used my Cinema 7 (URC-7800B00) for year or so now and it worked great for my old Dish 3000. I just bought a Dishplayer 7200 and have read many posts here concerning it.

My question is if there is a newer version of the C-7 that has the Dishplayer advanced code (1005 I think) built in or will I have to still go the route of learning all the dishplayer functions to it?

Other option: is there a newer remote ($30 +/- range) better suited to the dishplayer ?

Thanks,

Walt Mather

I found myself in the same circumstances, and discovered that the Cinema7 was able to 'learn' virtually all the functions of the DishPlayer 7200. After having been very disappointed, I'm now very pleased!

The One For All FAQ page has excellent tips on getting the most out of the Cinema7 remote.

The key is that you *can* assign learned functions to keys other than 1L-4L. As long as you don't have to use 'learning memory' for your other devices, there should be sufficient room for the satellite dish remote's keys.

Thanks for your feedback Miles. Also please see my other post regarding my running out of memory and rca 0054 tuner code.

Are you familiar with that code and could maybe help me understand just how to get it and the advanced functions programed in.

I enter the 0054 to the "rcvr" button and it blinks twice to accept it, but it will not do anything on the tuner at all. It's an RCA RV-3798. It's one of those you press the device button to turn the reveiver power with the receiver in the mode of whatever device you pushed. Like if you press tv, it comes on in tv mode, same with vcr, dvd, radio, etc. Then to power off you have to hit actual power button twice.

I've been told that the 0054 code is correct, but it needs advanced codes to do even basic functions. I guess I'm kind of thick, because I just can't figure out how to get these codes to work and until I do, I don't think I'm going to have enough room for all the dishplayer keys I still need to "learn" in.

Thanks a lot to you or anyone else that can jump in here.

Walt
