Why does the channel up, scroll up, and scroll right buttons on my Cinema 6 not work with my DirecTV Plus receiver? Every other button functions normally.

There is a bug in the way certain RCA codes have been programmed, so every second command doesn't work. Have you found that only certain number buttons work?

If all your number buttons work then it may well be that you have to reprogram the malfunctioning buttons with advanced codes.

Here's a test you can do. Cover the IR window of the C6 with your hand, then press the channel up button. Keeping the channel up button pressed, now uncover the IR window and point the C6 at the DSS, does the channel up work now?

There is a bad code at the beginning of the signal.

Rob,

I had tried tuning to a channel with the number buttons so I didn't notice that only the even-numbered buttons work. I attempted the test you described and the 'channel up' button does not work under any circumstances.

Something interesting though, normally the red LED stays lit whenever a button is held. During the test, while holding the up button, the LED was lit only when my hand was blocking the IR signal. Once I moved my hand, the LED went out. When I tried the same thing using the 'channel down' button, one that always works, the LED syated lit no matter where my hand was.

Thanks for the quick responses.
