How do I setup my Sony STR-DE925 receiver on my URC-8800? Does it make difference whether I use Amp or Tuner and then how do I switch devices/sound fields?

Thanks,
Mike

Your best bet is to use receiver code 0158 and misc audio code 0159. Check out the advanced code lists on my site to see the key mapping.

You can re-program the functions to any button you like using the advanced codes, instructions are in the manual which is also on my site.

You may have a problem with the DSP surround functions as they hare hard to reproduce on some Sony's.

Do you mean that I should use two device buttons for the same device?

Thanks,

You can combine the codes from the two device codes under one device key. See the "Tips" section of my site for details on how to do it.

Ok, I took a look at the tips section. So, do you recommend I program the 0158 first, then 0519? Their tech support only mentioned the 0158 code. Where do you put in these advanced codes? Am I only limited to the 1-6 buttons?

Thanks,
Mike

Try programming each device code and see how many buttons are mapped correctly. Use the one with the most correctly mapped buttons as the "main" device code, then program the other one first and map the buttons using advanced codes, then re-program to the "main" device code and map any additional buttons.

Full instructions on how to enter advanced codes are in the manual on my site.
