Hi,

I'm trying (desperately) to find a remote that will control my Sony SA-VA1 integrated receiver/speaker/subwoofer system. The rest of my system is fairly high-end, however, after the rest of the system, I'm strapped and stuck with what I've got, sound-wise. NONE of my remotes will control this beast, so, I have to get up and adjust the volume from across the room from my 55" widescreen and DVD player (how ironic).

Do you have anything that will control it? I don't even have the original remote to 'teach' a new remote, so, I'm in a bind.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill Griffith

You could try a One For All/Radio Shack remote and see if the 0158/0159 device codes work it. Sony uses some very strange IR protocols for some of their amps & receivers which are universally difficult to program using universal remotes (including the Sony universals, go figure!)

Some Philips Pronto users have been able, after much trickery, to get their Pronto's to learn the difficult Sony signals, and have created files for them which you can download, so if you don't mind using a touch-screen remote, maybe you should consider a Pronto.
