OK, I am trying to put all the steps to set my TV for the anamorphic queeze trick in 3 macros. But the problem is that the macros will perform differently every time. For example, when I did the 1st macro it is supposed to press volume down 10 times. Well, some times it does but other times it does 9 or 13 or even more! Can I fix that? I have a Toshiba CZ36V51 code 0156. Thanks ...

The problem is with the volume code you are using. Many devices use a redundant (unclean) code simply to ensure that the receiver actually responds when a button is pressed (even if the whole command didn't reach it). Since you are trying to string several commands together, the cinema runs one unclean code into the next, and the receiver is probably unable to reliably process the extended signal as several discrete ones. It "chokes" on a few, randomly.

I don't know if you taught the code to your cinema or are using a built-in one. Either way, you might try (re)learning the volume code. Try to press and release the original remote's button quickly, to send as discrete a code as possible.

Good luck. Multiple identical keypresses in macros has always been one of the trickiest tests for a remote.

Another possible solution is to learn a code from a device that is not in the same room as the TV. Then insert this second code between the code that you want to repeat. This will cause a bit of a pause between the successive repeated codes.

But a possible problem is that due to the length of what you are trying to do (10 time repeat) you could run out of memory.

Here's a little background on what Gaby's trying to do. He's trying to adjust his Toshiba TV from widescreen to fullscreen (and back) using the service menu options. Apparently, it takes 20 or so presses of the volume button to accomplish this. This is obviously more presses than can be programmed into a single macro, so someone advised him to try learning multiple presses of the original volume button to one of the Cinema 7 buttons, which I'm assuming he's done. So now, he's trying to program that multiple volume button into a macro and get the exact number of volume presses that he's looking for.

Gaby,
I still can't help but think that there has to be a better way to accomplish what you are trying to do. Did you try posting your situation on the Home Theatre Forum (I gave you the link before). There are some guys over there that really know what to do with the service menu, and they can probably show you a simple way to do what you're trying to do.

Unfortunatly there's no better way to do it. I am an avid fan of the Forum so I know for sure but thanks for tyring to help me :) Fortunately I did learned the volume commands as discrete as possible and it's working great! I have to create 3 macros (it takes 43 presses to do the squeeze)and they finally work. Now I am programing 3 more to get my TV back to 4:3 view which shouldn't be a problem. Thanks all for the help
BTW know of any remote that has enough memory for macros to create my secuence in only one macro?

Gaby..

A Pronto. 255 steps in each macro possible. 300 to 400 dollars for a pronto.

I have both, and prefer the cinema7. The pronto's only clear advantage is for doing complicated things just like you are trying to.
