We all know that all OFA remotes allow moving to, or assigning EFC's to a "stacked" button (press MAGIC/SETUP before the button to invoke the stacked function). But can an individual reassigned "stacked" key be cleared out without using up memory? I know that SETUP** 980 will do it, but that clears everything. SETUP** 994 MAGIC KEY MAGIC KEY is not accepted. SETUP** 994 KEY KEY clears only the UNstacked command. However SETUP** 994 KEY MAGIC KEY reassigns the stacked function back to the unstacked function ... but does this use up valuable memory?

Try teaching the key code 000 with the 994 sequence. The only way you'll know it is cleared and not using memory is if the red light doesn't flash when it is pressed.
You can clear just a single device's programmed keys with SETUP 994 DEV DEV.
When you get it figured out, please post the solution here.
Good luck

Bingo. SETUP** 994 DEV DEV does the trick. I'd never even thought of that. It clears out all key movers on device DEV without affecting anything else. I continue to be amazed by the elegance and uncanny intuitive logic by which these things work. Thanks, dave, for the suggestion.

Geez, who knew? I'll add this to the FAQ. Can someone verify this just to make sure? Also, what about macros assigned to shifted buttons? [Link: ampersand.hypermart.net]

I verified it. The SETUP** 994 DEV DEV worked for me. However, I don't know about macros assigned to shifted buttons. I didn't have any.
