Have you thought of sending the remote back to Universal for their programing?

Your model is supposed to be upgradeable and they 'say' that they will modify it for you.

Where did you find the remote? All I can find is the 9800, which they don't support.

When I got a new DVD player last January it would not work with my Producer 8. I e-mailed OFA at their web site and got the reference information I needed. I sent the remote back and in about a week they sent it back with a little note telling me the new DVD player codes. I tried them till I found one that worked, and it's been fine since. After having that Pioneer 414 about 6 months I bought a Proscan and the new DVD functions worked with that as well. It's really easy to upgrade these bad boys! I'm very satisfied with my Producer8.
