One4all tried to put the most common commands codes in each device setup, but obviously some devices have more features than those default commands would access. If you email ONE4ALL stating your device, the device code you used for it, and the features you'd like, they will reply with a series of advanced codes you can program into your remote to access those missing commands. Advanced codes are also refered to as magic codes by some. They are 3 digit numbers. You decide which key you want the code function on, then program it into the key with this sequence:

DEVICE*SETUP*--**9*9*4**#1*#2*#3*KEY**

Device is the device (TV,VCR, etc..) key you want the key programmed to work with.
* is a light flash from the remote. --** means hold the setup button down until you get the 2 light flashes.
#1,#2,and #3 are the 3 digits of the advance code in sequence.

Advanced codes are also available from other sites on the WWW and other users of ONE4ALL remotes.

Yeah, but what do you do when they don't have a device code for your device?

I have a Sony TA-E9000ES preamp that they do not offer support for. No support/device code for a SONY?

Isn't that kind of like "Just Tires" or "NTW" not having tires for a Ford?

A: You look for another remote that does support your device.
B: You trade in your device for one that the remote supports.
C: You use the device's original remote.
D: You get angrier and angrier about it until the anger finally consumes you and you die young, embittered, and alone.
E: You wait, and ONE4ALL will eventually come out with a remote that DOES support your device.

Pick one.

What I suggest is going for a fully-learning remote to contol your 9000ES. If OneForAll doesn't support it, they don't support it.

Does programming in an advanced code on a key take up erase the original code on the key thus not using memory, or go into some memory bank as if you were learning another remote via the SETUP-975 method?

Programming an advanced code takes up memory. It replaces the original function of the key, but does not erase it. The memory used is different than the memory used for learned keys.
