Hey all -

I am trying to program my Home Producer 8 (9800) for two audio components:

Aiwa XC-35M 5-disc CD player
Technics SA-DX930

Unfortunately, there are many basic functions I can't seem to get. The closest I can come with the Techincs is device code 308, which enables power, input changes, and volume control. It does not, however, allow me change between preset radio stations, or access my CD player without changing over to the CD device.

With the CD player itself, I can only access play and stop, using device code 0124. I can't turn it on or off, skip tracks, or change discs.

Please help me find the correct device codes or advanced codes to enable my Home Producer 8 to fulfill these basic functions... or anything else that you'd suggest!!

Many thanks to all who've read this and all who reply (feel free to email me with suggestions too! thanks!)

Gabe,

I might be able to help you out with your technics receiver since I have the same receiver and have programmed my av producer 8 to work pretty well with it.
I first and foremost have to direct you to Rob's fantastic web sight on this remote control where you can find out how to program "advanced codes":
[Link: stormloader.com]

Then you can find the "advanced codes" for the amplifier portion of the receiver at:
[Link: stormloader.com]
or at
[Link: xi6.com]
the last site (bruce tomlin's site) is where you will find the most accurate "advanced codes" for the tuner portion of the sa-dx930. Bruce Tomlin's site is for a different Technics product (sa-ax720) but the codes work just fine with the sa-dx930. On the amp section alot of the names are different than what you have become accustomed to on the sa-dx930 but if you play around enough with it you will get it. Remember the tuner and the amp have to be programmed seperately on different "mode" buttons on the remote control. (AMP device code: 0308 ; TUNER device code: 0309)
I'm not an expert at this. I've relied a great deal on this website for tips and tricks. Most of it was trial and error but with enough work I finally got it. Good Luck.
