I've been having trouble getting my new URC-8800 to work with a Kenwood VR-407 receiver. The 0313 device code seems to work best--I can turn it on and off, use the volume, etc. Is there a better code or some way to get a little more functionality?

Also, is there an advanced code that will let me toggle the speakers on and off? My original remote doesn't have an option for it, but perhaps there's a code anyway.

Thanks in advance,

From what I hear, the VR-407 uses the same codeset as the VR-309, so the codes you need can be found under both 0313 and 0314 AMP codes.

The advanced codes are listed on my site. I believe the button to toggle the speakers on and off is called MUTE.

Thanks for the link--a very helpful site.

I should have been more clear about toggling the speakers. I need to be able to turn off the speakers without turning off the headphones. On the front of the receiver are two buttons: one for A speakers and one for B speakers. Pushing the A button will cut off the speakers without cutting off the headphones. The button doesn't appear to be a manual on/off button (it doesn't change position and has no effect when pressed while the receiver is off), which makes me think that perhaps there may be a code for it.

Thanks again,

-Joshua

I have similar buttons on my Kenwood, and I don't this is something you can duplicate via remote.
