I lost my Mitsibushi VCR long ago. My C7 with 0150 device code works fine. Now that I have two Mit VCR in the same room, I will like to differentiate the two VCR from the same C7 universal remote. I did find a switch on my older Mit VCR to select second remote code called B-remote. Anyone have any suggestions on how to find this B-remote code for my C7?

I believe the VCR's model number is U71?!!

Thanks.

Try the code search method described in the Cinema7 user manual.

Try EVERY device code listed for VCRs even if they aren't listed for Mitsibushi.

Write out the listed VCR device codes, but in numerical order. Look for a pattern with obvious missing numbers in the sequence. If you see any then try the numbers that would be needed to fill in the sequence.

Try EVERY number possible except the ones you've already tried and ruled out.

And remember... sometimes there just isn't a device code that will work. There is really no such thing as a truly "universal" remote.

If you want a list of the device codes in numeric order, print off the "Unique Device Codes" list from my web site.

You will find several codes that are not accepted, this would be because those codes are newer than the C7, so they will probably be on newer remotes like the Producer 8.

If you do make a list of codes that are valid but are not on my list, could you send that list to me.

Thanks,
Rob.

Actually, you might want to go through all the adv codes for the 0150 device first. I just cheked the Pronto files section and the have some Mitz 'B' codes listed and they are for the same device code as the 'A' codes.

I don't these are for the same VCR as yours, but here are some 'B' adv codes...

687 - On
303 - Off
463 - Line 1
591 - Line 2

I would recommend printing out the worksheet from my site, and starting from the bottom and work your way up as these codes listed are from the last few rows.

Good luck
Rob.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the advanced caode for my Mits VCR's
B-remote adv codes. They worked. With my C7,
my Mits VCR device code is at 0043. B-remote switch
set to B, discreet on code 687 turn on VCR, discreet
off code 303 turn off vcr, 463 selects Line 1 and 591
selects Line 2.

Got to learn how to read those Pronto files some days.

Thanks a lots.

Hey Jas,
Do you know how to manually search for the rest of the codes?

As for the Pronto files. What you need to do is download the Pronto Edit software from the R/C Files section, then download a program called "IR Tool" from the Utilities section (within the files section).

Then find a device file (ccf file) that somebody else has prepared for a device similar to yours and download it. When you click on the downloaded file, it will bring up the Pronto Edit software, then double click on any button that has been previously prepared and it will bring up a proerties screen, then double click on the entry for the button (it will read "Learned") and this brings up the HEX for the button.

Now you bring up the "IR Tool" program, and cut and paste the hex into it's I/O window, and press "Decode Hex". If the hex is in one of the 6 or 7 formats that the "IR Tool" recognises, it will tell you the format, the real device code and the original command code. This command code is what I call the "Original Button Code" on my advancde code worksheets, so you can easily translate it back to an OFA code. For instance, if the command code is 1, the OFA code will be 697.

Clear as mud???

Thanks.

Well, if I had your original remote, i could learn the codes into the pronto and see what their advanced codes are, but I don't. Next, if someone who owns a Pronto and a Mitz VCR were to create a file of the 'B' codes, then I could download their file and get the same results. Somebody posted the discrete 'B' codes on the "discrete codes board, that's how I got those.

Still clear as mud?

Hey Jas,
I just looked in the files section, and there is a file for the 'B' codes, it's for a U69 VCR but my guess is that it uses the same codes as your U71.

Here's a link to the file...

If you wanna give it a try, follow the instructions I gave before and see if you can extract the codes. If I get a chance I will get them at some point.

OK Jaz,
I've found the coding scheme for the 'B' codes. Here's how you can find any code you like.

1. Print out the worksheet from my site, even if you've printed it before - print it again because I've just moved the page break.

2. Print out the adv codes for VCR/0043

3. Write the codes that you are interested in on the worksheet, in the proper box. (You may find the cross-refference sheet useful here to convert the adv code to the Original Button Code).

4. Now, the code for the 'B' VCR will be the same box on the next page.

Let's walk through an example. The 'A' adv code for POWER is 695, which is OBC 2, so write in the the box.

The equivelent box on the second page is OBC 130 (or you could just add 128 to the OBC). The adv code for OBC 130 is 447, so the 'B' adv code for POWER is 447. Etc, etc.

There you go.

OK, I've just finished typing up the codes, you can get them at [Link: stormloader.com]

You should try the official codes to see which ones actually do anything else on your VCR. When you find good ones, let me know and I'll add them to the list (with the corresponding 'B' codes).

Rob.
