I had the Power key set as a macro to turn the whole system on, regardless of which device was selected. Somehow, a different function got mapped to that button for Aux1. Even if I reprogram the macro to that key under Aux1, the macro will only function for the other devices. Somehow there's a function locked into the Power button under Aux1 that I can't remove. I've tried every clear code I could find and nothing works (the code to clear a copied button won't respond with two LED blinks so that may be the problem). Is there some way to do a reset for just one button?

Actually, you DID reset that one button. I don't know if this is the BEST solution, but it will work...

1) Clear out all the devices for the power button using MAGIC**9-9-4-power-power**
2) Reprogram your macro to the power button.

By the way, do you notice that the macro recorded on the power button plays back faster than on a learning button?

That took care of it, thanks. The problem was that when I was trying to erase it using 994 I would press "power" twice but not hold it down on the second press until the LED blinked twice. Works fine now.

And no, I don't notice a difference in speed between macros on the "power" button and those on the designated macro buttons. They are all very fast which is one of the reasons I decided to give this remote a try. My SL-9000 was much too slow when executing macros.

Thanks for the help.

What to do you mean by "MAGIC" and "**"? Also, should this work for the Macro buttons too? I can't seem to clear mine. Thanks.

The MAGIC button is the SETUP button ( which is the green 'P' button on the 15-1994). The 15-1994 doesn't have macro buttons, but if it did, the process would work on them too.

The ** notation represents two flashes of the red LED. (Plus, in my notation below, if there are square brackets around a button, it means hold it until you get the two flashes).

The process to completely delete a macro (as specified on Gerald's FAQ page) is basically to program an "empty" macro, like this...

[SETUP **] 995 ** macro-button [SETUP **]

Here's the link to the actual paragraph in the FAQ: [Link: ampersand.hypermart.net][1.15]

The thing to remember when programming macro's is that, even though they will be in effect under all devices, you can always program a button back to it's original function (or any other function, for that matter) using learning or advanced codes. It appears that Michael did this by accident which is why the macro button didn't work for just the one device.

Rob, thanks! That blank macro did the trick! I appreciate your help.
