The manual on page 37, under the subheading "re-assigning device keys", shows how to "copy" an exisitng device key. But i currently do not have a TV button to copy. How can i get it back?

Did you try it? What happened? The remote still knows that the button is physically labeled TV.....

Yes I tried it. I re-assigned (copied) the sat device key to the tv button. So now I have two sat buttons. I even restored the factory settings but the physical tv button is still assigned to sat.

1. press and hold SET
2. press the down cursor key until screen changes to MODE MAP
3. press SELECT
4. press TV device key
5. press TV device key again
6. program tv code as usually

I'm pretty sure that you can set it back to TV, using the Mode Map feature, but I don't have a 8910 to try it on.

If you don't mind losing any existing programming, you can do a full factory reset. See post #7 in this old thread.

If that doesn't work for you, post at www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewforum.php.   People who still own 8910s frequent that site.
