Hi, I have a Denon AVR-3802 reciever and I don't have the original remote so I went to radio shack and bought a Universal Gamer Pro remote 15-133 & I did a code search when I first got after trying the codes and couldn't get the on screen menu to adjust the speakers etc so I was able to get the menu to work, but I messed with it tried to do another code search but now after not being able to change it back to when it worked. I can't figure out how can I reset the remote back to default? If anybody has this remote this same audio receiver & has found either a code or even another remote that works well with this, could you help greatly appreciated!
Also I was wondering about a USB IR device to be able to work media center with my PC I have Vista Home Premium x64 bit and have a PCI Pinnacle HD TV card 800i & the remote that came with TV tuner not sure but I think I may have broke the wire that controls the remote is that able to be fixed or any suggestions for this?

The 15-133 should be a good match for the AVR-3802 using setup code Audio 1360. The codes for the AVR-3803 are available at hifi-remote.com, and I strongly suspect that the codes are the same. Make sure that you assign the Setup code after pressing the AUD button. Press P until 2 blinks Enter 1360 Should get 2 blinks
I doubt that you have actually messed up the remote, but you can do a moderate reset using the 980 command, or a very complete reset with 981. If you want to do these, Press P until the remote blinks twice Enter 980 (or 981) The remote blinks 4 times
After setting up with 1360, you may want some functions which aren't assigned to buttons, or perhaps have the wrong assignment. For example, the 3803 has functions like "Volume to -40dB" and "Subwoofer Level Down". Probably the 3802 has some of the same functinos. If you want the 15-133 to control things like that, post back here, and we'll show you how to assign EFCs to individual buttons.

One additional note. Since the 15-133 uses 5 digit setup codes, audio 1360 is actually 31360 on this remote. I use THIS generic USB IR dongle with my 15-133. There is no code for it, but you should be able to learn most of the commands you need or simply upload them from you PC if you get a JP1 cable. BTW, what did your remote cost, if you don't mind my asking?

I have gotten that remote at a local radio shack. I can't remember if I paid $15 or $20 dollars for it. I bought it because I got a audio video surround sound receiver Denon AVR-3802 but the only problem was the guy didn't have the original remote, so I needed a universal remote so I went and bought the radio shack gamer pro remote 15-133 model and I did power and volume controls and some of the inputs to change but not the one I needed and did a code search & somehow I was able to get the on-screen menu to show up on my TV card by connecting a rca cable to the video output of the receiver to the video input in my TV card and was able to change speaker size, levels, and distance of each speaker as well as other things but I went and tried to see if I could find another code by searching on the remote & now I can't get the remote to work like I had it, so now I'm kinda stuck & I looked on hifi remote.com and I don't understand how to do anything on that site? I apologize for the length of this reply, just confused... I hope I can get this figured out Thanks again

Hi I did reset the radio shack gamer pro remote 15-133 using code 980 and it blinked 4 times. I read the second post I recieved and my remote uses 5 digit codes & he said that using code 1360 is actually 31360 & I can get some stuff to work but the menu button & the guide button don't light up & I can change on my Denon Audio/Video receiver AVR-3802 sources such as CD, DVD, Phono, and CDR/TAPE but I can't get it to change to the input I use for connecting my PC via SPDIF digital coaxial input I have it on VCR2/V.AUX & can't get it to work with receiver to give me the setup on-screen menu to adjust speaker sizes, and distance and various settings for the surround sound? Any help greatly appreciate it. I am confused on the hifi remote.com site. What can I download to give me a better understanding? I know theres got to be a way to make this remote work with this Denon receiver, almost feel like when I get the money buy another remote but if this one will work it then why waste more $?

I paid I can't remember excact cost for this remote but I think I got it on sale for like $15 dollars at a local radio shack. I got the remote because I had gotten a Denon AVR-3802 reciever from craigslist and it works perfect, the only problem is the guy didn't have the original remote so I bought the radio shack gamer pro 15-133 hoping to be able to setup surround sound speakers and distance with on screen menu but I haven't been able to do thatg but once by a code search and I went & tried to see if I could find a better code and now I can't get it to work the way it did before with the on-screen menu and have only got bbasic functions and i can't get the main input I use on the remote which is VCR2/V.AUX using SPDIF coaxial digital audio from my PC Any help would appreciate it thankx

Here are some advanced codes that should work. To use them just press and release P followed by the code. For example, to switch to V.AUX, press and release P then 01801. To assign them permanently to a key, follow the Assign Advanced Code instructions HERE: DBS 01833 PHONE 02041 CD 01817 TUNER 01945 DVD 02045 VDP 01897 V.AUX 01801 VCR-1 01929 VCR-2 01865 On Receiver Display 01857 Volume UP 01973 Volume DOWN 01909 Mute 01845 Tune Presets UP 33873 Tune Presets DOWN 33937 Power 01977 CDR/TAPE 01905 TV 01961 Band 34001 Surround Parameter 33983 System Setup 33855 UP Arrow 34047 DOWN Arrow 33823 LEFT Arrow 33988 RIGHT Arrow 01921 Channel Select / Enter 01853 Test Tone 01901 Input Mode 33879 On Screen Display 01985 Input - External 01239 Input - Analog 01793 5ch/7ch Stereo 33839 Volume to -40dB 33883 Subwoofer Level DOWN 01949 Subwoofer Level UP 01805 Direct 33859 Volume to 0dB 34043 Surround Back 33915 Stereo 33923 Pure Direct 01900 Dolby/DTS Surround 01821 Cinema 01171 Music 01107 DSP Simulation 01885 Zone 2 Discrete Power ON 02020 Zone 2 Discrete Power OFF 01796 Zone 1 (Main) Discrete Power ON 01956 Zone 1 (Main) Discrete Power OFF 01892 Zone 2 PHONO 33995 Zone 2 CD 33843 Zone 2 TUNER 33971 Zone 2 DVD 33863 Zone 2 VDP 33907 Zone 2 V.AUX 34035 Zone 2 VCR-1 33811 Zone 2 VCR-2 33955 Zone 2 DBS 33899 Zone 2 CDR/TAPE 33795 Zone 2 TV/VCR 34019

Re-read the replies and I believe you'll find all your questions have already been answered. I mentioned that it was JP1-able in my first post and gave you all the codes and instructions you can use without a cable in another post.

Hey Mike here I did use the list of codes and it did work for most functions but I tried using the on-screen code & setup & had no luck with those, is there anything I can do to try to the menu for on screen so I can configure the speaker setup such as sizes, distance and other system setup options? I am definitely thinking of taking the remote when I get some $ and going to radio shack and get a compatible JP1 cable and connect to the PC and see if I can use remote to turn off my PC with it & get it to work Vista's Windows Media Center with my Pinnacle HD PCI 800i TV Card and that would be great then! I'm so excited about learning about this and the abilities these remotes have! It's so amazing technology these days! I knew that being able to turn a PC on & off with a remote was possible! Thanks

"no luck" doesn't really tell us what is happening when you try the OSD command. Do you have the instructions for the receiver? I would spend some time trying to follow the instructions to set up your gear. Put another way, the problem is unlikely to be the wrong IR codes. Please make sure the cables are hooked up according to the manual.

Yes I do have the reciever Denon AVR-3802 with the instructions. I used the Radsi shack gamer pro 15-133 remote when I got the remote I used the code search by press the P and the 991 and the device number 3 & then by pressing the ch + until the receiver would shut off and I noticed that I pressed the ch+ up and the source changed on the reciever's display to tape and the light blinked twice on the remote & I pressed P to set the code and I was able to get the on-screen menu to work so I could set the speaker size & distance, but I tried doing that again but I can't get the remote to do what I it did to get the on-screen display. Thanks appreicate any help . The one thing I want to do is be able to setup speaker sizes for front center & surround channels

I had a ? about the radio shack unviersal gamer pro 15-133 I had used the reset code 981 and I can't get the PSX for PS2 to work is there a code for that or a way to set the remote back to default to when it was bought. I've gotten alot of functions to work my denon avr 3802 thanks for helping with that still trying to figure out if I connected the video out to my TV tuner cards composite rca video input. I hope I can get the on screen setup to work. I was reading about alot of surround sound receivers now use a microphone to setup audio calibration & room setup. I was wondering is there a better remote? Any suggestions? I was wondering if you have had any experience with HDMI? The receiver I have now doesn't have HDMI connections but are they better for picture and sound quality and surround sound? I was just curious and the newer True HD & newer audio formats how are they different from dolby digital II and the DTS ? I'd like to get a blu ray burner for my PC wonder if they have gotten any cheaper? Thanks I apologize for such a long message and so many questions Take care

I think PS2 is 20772. If not, try the other sony DVD codes in the manual. There's always a better remote. But you have every function already, so the remote isn't the issue. You could spend $150 on a harmony (any harmony will do) if you want, but it won't do you any good until you get the denon connected properly and follow the config steps in the manual. Maybe you could get more connection advice in a denon forum. I know nothing about them. DD and DTS are lossy like on you get on DVD today. I personally can't tell much difference between that and lossless HD sound, but some claim it's night and day.
