Hi there i have recently bought my daughter a disney princess tv model number p1900dltcd and subsequently purchased a wand style remote from an auction site i cannot seem to get the remote to work with the tv, wondering if i need a code or something any suggestions would be greatly received.

By "wand style remote" do you mean this: http://www.thewandcompany.com/ ? If so, that is a learner, you need to teach it the codes using your original remote. If you didn't get user instructions with the unit, you can download them from that site.
