I am trying to assign the OK/Sel button to work with my tv. I am using Charter's UR4U MDVR CHD2 remote. Right now it is exclusively assigned to the cable function. How do I unlock this feature and assign it to work with my Hitachi plasma tv model P50V701 assigned to the 011 code?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at my wits end trying to figure it out. I just did it for a friend on his COX cable remote following an old thread by using the 994 code and an advanced code for the select button, but the same steps do no work with my remote because there is no setup button - instead I have to hold the device key simultaneously with the OK/SEL button to function as the "setup" button. Please help, this is very annoying. Thanks.

This remote is not made by Universal Electronics. It is instead made by Universal Remote, Inc. The 994 command only is useful in UEI remotes.  I don't know how to change the behavior of this remote, but certainly this isn't the correct forum.  Looks like there is come kind of software update available for it:

Thank you for your response. I apologize for posting in the incorrect forum - I was not aware that there was a distinction between the two. If you don't mind, can you point me in the direction of the correct forum to post this in. I am really tired of having to use multiple remotes. Especially because my couch seems to "eat" one of them on an almost daily basis. :) Thanks
