Any one have the DirecTV+DVR Model R16-500 Code? I would like to program it into my Radio Shack 15-1995.

I have a JP-1 connection so if you have the codes that would work as well.

Thanks,

Sorry that is too old of remote to have the Directv code.

The directv codeset didn't exist before 2004, and didn't show up in universal remotes until late 2006.

Recent Radio models like the 15-133, 15-134, 15-135, 15-100, 15-2200 have Directv code which is either SAT 1377 or 01377 depending on which remote you have.

Check best buy for the RCA RCRP05B or OFA OARP05S they're the indentical remotes, same Directv code in each SAT 01377.

Thanks for the information!

My first priority is to have an RF remote control. So, I am looking to either (in preferred order):

1. Add the codes to my Radio Shack 15-1995 using JP1 if they are available for the DirecTV+DVR Model R16-500. Can you point me to the codes to add manually?
2. Purchase a new remote with RF like the URC RFS200 PowerPak Bundle w/ MasterControl RF20 and PowerBlaster. Any reviews or comments on this device?
3. Purchase a wireless remote extender like the Radio Shack 15-1950 but, would like to be totally RF/wireless to be able to control form anywhere in the house and on the deck as I can now do with the Radio Shack 15-1995.

Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

1. I'm not jp1-er, best place for answer on that subject is here:

But from what I read older OFA remotes like producer 8's don't have the memory for the current Directv codeset, and 15-1995 is an older remote.

2. I ues the URC RF remote exclusively, I prefer the RF10 to the RF20, too much scrolling with RF20. I have up for sale 4 RFS100 sets, thts the RF10 & mrf100 combo, and cheaper then any where, now. :)

3.Have you given any thought of the Next Generation remote extender? THey replace a battery in the remote and turn IR remotes into RF remotes, they work great, I use them in my IR keyboards. THey come in 433 mhz and 418 mhz versions, I use the 418 mhz one so my URC RF10 and keyboard communicate with same basestation.

Edmund is right. The 15-1995 is a no-go for DirecTV. It and the Producer 8 remotes used the 740 processor which has a 50 byte limit for upgrades. Even if that weren't a problem, the executor (the subroutine that generates the specific flashes of IR) for the DirecTV protocol isn't built into those old remotes, and no one has ever written (nor will, I suspect) an DirecTV executor in the assembly language for the 740.
