just wondering if any codes exist for my remote for the said devices? I have been googling for a couple days with no luck. Hopefully somebody here can help me or point me in the right direction. I have tried to use the learning function on the remote but some commands refuse to stick. Thanks for any help.

[Lecture mode] A week or so ago, over at AVS, you asked how to make your remote work, but didn't bother to say which remote. After prompting, you provided a picture, and the remote was identified as a Atlas 1054, and eventually the problem was solved. Today you've asked for help here, but haven't bothered to tell us which model! As it happens, that isn't too important for the Vizio, but Insignia components are made by several manufacturers, and we have to know the model number to have any chance of helping.
[/Lecture mode]

The correct setup code for Vizio TVs is 1758, but the 8910 doesn't have this setup loaded. The Atlas does, though.

As Edmund says, 0178 will control power, volume and channels. Many other functions won't work.

You can assign Advanced Codes (also called Extended Function Codes) to buttons, and get the desired functionality. This termed a keymove.

Follow approximately the instructions in www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-one4all/thread.cgi using the following codes:

B2,

If you have a URC-10820N, THESE advanced codes may work for you.

If you end up getting a JP1 cable, I've posted an upgrade for an Insignia HERE. The learns are tricky, but you'll get them if you are persistent. I found that short presses worked best. I wouldn't even bother learning the number keys since they're rarely used.

Just to be clear, the codes you quoted are for the vizio. The codes I posted (link to my post in the insignia forum) are the insignia codes.

The issue is there are no codes for your devices, so we had to find the closest matches, which happen to work little or none of the functions. However, with advanced codes, all the commands can be programmed individually. It's a lot of effort, but it's better than nothing. And it's the best you can do without learning or a cable (or wave file for the 8910).

Hi all:
I recently got one of Comcast's new DTRs. (a mini cable box). I have an Insignia TV/DVD combo under counter mount unit which is about 4 years old. I went through all of Insignia's code & could not program the remote to work the TV. Anyway, I did some searching on the net and found that Insignia can be made by Coby. I used the code 11538 and it worked! Hope this helps some folks.

I too am having a problem with the Insignia Blu-Ray player. When I use the learning with my five year old MX800, the learned commands make my Benq projector go crazy.

Does that make sense?

Is the problem that the learned signals are the same as signals used for the Benq?

In general, I have had major problems trying to used learned commands with off brand (and possibly any new) components.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

No, the codes are not the same. But the repeats may be causing problems. Try your learns again using the shortest key presses you can get away with.
