Sylvania 6427 Television TV uses universal remote code Funai 171

I am guessing most recent Sylvania TVs (the CRTs) are now manufactured by Funai and simply use the Sylvania brand.

No, recent Sylvania/Emerson are using a codeset no other tv brand used before, so no preprogrammed universal or oem remote has preset code for them. This goes aftermarket universals too.
