Try clearing it by pressing TV, Setup for 2 blinks, 994, then OK, OK. If it still doesn't work, OK is advanced code 14149, assuming you're using TV code 1100 (which you should be). Program it using the instructions in Rob's post.

Booya! 14149 was the key to getting it to work! Where the heck does one find that code documented? Or is it just something that resides in the brains of trained remote control ninjas that live in the high mountains.

Thanks, everything is working perfect now.

I've got them all memorized. Just kidding. I happen to have the same exact TV as you and use those codes myself. It's kind of documented HERE (Code 101). But you have to take that code along with some other parameters, plug them into some fancy software and get the magical code that works with TV 1100. I don't fully understand it myself. But you are correct that only specially trained ninjas can do it. I've always wondered why the code generating program is called remote "master". Now I know.

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have the Atlas DVR 5 button remote and have input my codes but the "OK/Select" button doesn't work on the TV and the DVD. I have a Toshiba TV and am using code 0156, everything works including the "video source" button, but when I hit "Ok" the CBL light comes on.

Same with the DVD, which is a Sony - using code 0533. The thing with this is that my "Play" button acts like "OK" and the "OK" button doesn't work. This is not as much of an issue since I can get around and try to remember to use the play button instead but I was just wondering if there is some sort of lock on the "OK/Select" button??

Try the following to get the OK/select

1. tv
2. press and hold SET for two blinks
3. enter 9 9 4
4. press SELECT
5. press SELECT again

Having a similar problem as some of the other posters here. I have the select button unlocked now for my DVD player, however pressing it does nothing. Seems like its not sending a signal to my player for that button. Current DVD code is 1354. Any suggestions as to what numbers to try using the method Rob mentioned on page one?

Please post the brand and model numbers of your DVD and TV. Also, explain what you did to "unlock" the OK button.

I used Robman's instructions to unlock the ok button using the codes i listed above. So now when I press OK it sends the signal to either my tv or dvd player rather then the cable box. However, whatever signal it sends to either the tv or dvd doesn't get registered as ok.

TV is an LG 50pq30 and DVD player is a Philips DVP3982

For the DVD use Rob's procedure of post 6 in this thread. At step 5, use 176 or 00176, depending on your remote type.

For the TV, use 164.

Thanks to everyone here!!

I just spent HOURS trying to get the OK/Select button on my Time Warner Cable ATLAS OCAP 5 remote to stop automatically switching to CBL whenever I would press it. I'm posting my discoveries here for other people who may be trying to accomplish the same thing, or something similar.

Custom programming the OK button using the steps described here did the trick. It was knowing which advanced code to use that I had trouble with.

I have an LG Universal Remote, model number MKJ40653801 for a 42LG70 LG LCD TV. I couldn't find the advanced codes anywhere on the internet, so I went through the pain of discovering them myself, one by one, starting from 00000, until I reached the enter button, code 00164.

First off, for the 42LG70 set with the MKJ40653801 remote, the Enter button is code 00164.

As paraphrased from above: On your time warner remote, press TV, then hold SETUP until TV blinks twice. Then, press 9 9 4. TV blinks twice again. Then, press SETUP (without holding it), TV blinks once. Enter the 5 digit code (e.g. 00164 for Enter) and press the OK/Select key.

You can program any key this way. I've programmed a few others for convenience.

Anyways, here are the codes I've found for the 42LG70. They may be similar for other models. Those that have a * are what I believe to be advanced options and may reset your TV to factory settings.

Simplink - 00006
Q. Menu Aspect Ratio - 00009
Lock* - 00012
In-Stop* (resets to factory) - 00015
Power only mode* (makes the screen totally white, good for findiixels) - 00014
Sound-Check* - 00016
EZ Adjust* - 00018
In-Start* - 00019
Component 1 Input - 00019
(Function not available message) - 00036
Q. Menu Picture Mode - 00040
HDMI 2 Input - 00044
(No storage units available message) - 00045
HDMI 1 Input - 00046
USB Device - 00047
Power - 00053
Mute - 00057
Q. Menu Sleep Timer - 00054
TV Input - 00058
Input (same as INPUT button on LG remote) - 00059
Auto Demo Mode - 00080
HDMI 3 Input - 00081
Program Information - 00087
Zoom 1 - 00098
Q. Menu Sound Mode - 00103
AV2 Input - 00105, 00109
Component 2 Input - 00108
TV Input - 00110
RGB-PC Input - 00112, 00114
(Function not available message) - 00116-00123
4:3 Aspect Ratio - 00134
16:9 Aspect Ratio - 00138
AV Mode - 00149
USB (music?) - 00160
ENTER - 00164

Hope this information helps someone out there.

-Justin
