Afternoon Chaps,
Being a total newbie to this please be kind :

I have a URC 9960 and need to upgrade it for the codes for my KISS DP-600.

I have managed to get the CCF file for it

I have also managed to use decodeccf and to get a text file from this.

However I am now totally stuck

Any ideas ?

I can supply the above 2 files if needed

many thanks in anticipation.

It seems reasonable to assume they would be needed. If the only way to get them were from you, then your offer to supply them would be appropriate.

BUT, I assume you got that ccf from some URL, probably this one:

If you want help with a downloaded CCF you should always provide the URL you got it from in your original request for help.
As for the output file from DecodeCCF, anyone who could understand that output well enough to help you could run DecodeCCF, so the URL for the CCF is enough.

Those signals decode as RC5 protocol, device 22, functions 0 through 40 plus function 88.
If I'm reading the xls file I got from Rob correctly, that code set is not built-into any of the remotes in Rob's list (Audio/0735 in the URC-6541 is close enough for keymoves of all but function 88, but that does you no good). More clearly it is not in the URC-9960.

To get this code set programmed into a 9960, you're more likely to find help in the hifi-remote.com forums rather than here.
I don't recall whether the 9960 can be programmed by .wav file (I think so). If so, the JP1 software could be used without needing a JP1 cable.

When you ask at hifi-remote, you should include the key data "The signals in the CCF decode as RC5 protocol, device 22, functions 0 through 40 plus function 88." as well as a link back to this thread.

Edit: I took an extra moment to check the hifi-remote file area for .wav files for the 9960

which reminded me:

1) Yes the 9960 can be ugraded by .wav file. You don't need to buy anything (I assume you have a PC with a speaker that can play a .wav file).

2) To make a .wav file for the 9960, you need to know whether it is B00 or B01.

3) The Kiss 500 DVD player does not use the same code set as was in that CCF I found for the DP-600.

"concise" ?? I think I failed that one.

Did you notice the part about B00 vs. B01?

I hope that is written somewhere on your remote. Otherwise you may also need advice from hifi-remote on how to determine which you have.

You could make a .wav file for each and see which works, but people tend to make enough mistakes in using .wav files that extra variables would make the task combinatorially harder.
