Has anyone managed to get the video source button working for a Panasonic Viera? I've spent the past two hours reading the information on this fourm and searching the web for the correct advanced code. I wasn't able to find what I'm looking for. I'm guessing the information is out there... I just don't know how to find it:

TV - Panasonic TC-P46G10 (Coded as TV/1941)
Remote - Atlas DVR/PVR 5 device
STB - Scientific Atlanta Cable box

Well, that's a little odd. Pansonic TVs all pretty much use the same advanced codes, and the button called source or input or TV/Video is Panasonic protocol, device 128, command 5.

The advanced code for that is 61485, but I believe that is the code already built into 1941 (and 0650, the other candidate setup code.)

Can you tell us the name of the button on the original remote that does what you want? Or are you perhaps looking for discrete codes for the input?

Programming it with 61485 worked like a charm. For the record, the button on the original remote was labled "INPUT".

If I were interested in finding out other advance codes are, where would I be able to look them up?

Thanks a bunch!

The main resource for advanced codes or EFCs, as they are frequently called, is www.hifi-remote.com/forums/.  To get the codes associated with a particular setup code, use the Lookup Tool, linked at the top of each page at hifi-remote.

In your case, I also checked the File Section there, and here at Remote Central, for codes.  Files at hifi-remote are text based, but  more easily understood using the program RemoteMaster (links in the Software forum).   In your case I pulled up a couple of similar TV upgrades, and found that the EFC was the same as listed in the Lookup Tool.  So I told you that EFC.  I also checked here, and at Panasonic.  The codes here are in Pronto hex or CCF or PCF format, so those need conversion to protocol type device number, and command number.

Actually, it is probable that your remote already had a keymove or macro assigned to the Input button, and those take priority over the basic EFC stored with the button.  So we could have done a 980 reset (you still could) to remove that putative keymove/macro, and thus get the default EFC, which should be 61485.

Thanks for the help. I think I'm starting to understand how this all works.
