I can't find the code for this tv any where. I found some that are close but any help on this would be great. Love the remote thus far, let's see if we can't get this thing to work with the Vizio VX37L 37". Thanks guys (and gals).

Thanks Edmund, you are a legend. I tried these codes and the primary buttons seem to work, but still have no luck with the vast majority of the buttons (i.e. tv/video, menu arrows, pip functions). Any idea on these?

TV/0030 is the third choice with the same basic signals as TV/0056 and TV/0178. Maybe it has more signals correct.

But with any of those three setup codes you can use EFC KeyMoves to program all the functions that aren't correct in the base setup code. So you need instructions for programming EFC keymoves. Those are in many threads in this forum. And you need the EFC numbers for your missing functions. I'll check a few JP1 files to see how consistent Vizio EFC numbers are across models.

I compared TV/0030, TV/0056 and TV/0178 to The Vizio VX32L. TV/0178 is closest:
The digits, vol+, Vol-, ch+, ch-, prev, and power all match across the board (all three setup codes and the Vizio). But TV/0178 also matches for Mute, Menu, Select, Sleep, PIP and Info.

TV/0056s only extra match is MUTE and TV/0030's only extra match is INFO.

I don't know if URC-6131 supports advanced codes, but try this. Start with either one of TV/0178 or TV/0056. I think the difference is between the two is that the "power" and "prev" buttons don't work with TV/0178, but numbers, volume and channel keys should work with both. To add "INPUT" to TV/VID key for example:

1. Press and release TV device key
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 994
4. Press and release SETUP
5. Type 090
6. Press and release TV/VID
The remote should blink twice to confirm programming.

If the above works, try the others I found in the upgrade file for your TV in JP1 remote site. For each functions below, use the number following it in the step 5 above and chose a key to assign that function in step 6.
Power = 053
Enter = 018
Last = 247
Menu = 171
Guide = 244
Up = 168
Down = 166
Left = 170
Right = 037
OK = 164
Sleep = 054
PIP = 197
Info = 251
PIP Swap = 198
Exit = 041
Audio = 059
Input = 090
Wide = 138
TV = 110
AV = 105
Component = 231
HDMI = 174
MTS = 055
CC = 025
Zoom + = 165
Zoom - = 169
Freeze = 200
RGB = 253
PIP Ch + = 196
PIP Ch - = 203
PIP Input = 199
PIP Size = 201
Mode = 202

BTW, I think the remote that came with your TV is a JP1 remote, like the URC-6131 (but URC-6131 needs hardware modification to work with a JP1 cable).

I don't know if URC-6131 supports advanced codes,

I always forget those details per model. I thought I remembered that it needed 00 in front of the three digit EFC number. But I searched a few threads and they seem to indicate ordinary three digit EFC numbers (without the leading 00) work on the 6131.

I think the difference is between the two is that the
"power" and "prev" buttons don't work with TV/0178,

I would have thought we were using the same file from Rob to do that comparison. But what I saw in that file is TV/0030, 0056 and 0178 all match for Prev and Power. And there are several functions (listed in my earlier post) for which TV/0178 matches that Vizio file, where 0030 and 0056 don't.

To add "INPUT" to TV/VID key for example:

Those instructions look correct so far as I know.

If the above works, try the others I found in the upgrade
file for your TV

That's the VX32L file I was looking at. I would also guess that matches the VX37L asked about in this thread, but you never knopw until you try.

The advanced codes work like a charm. I have a feeling that I bunch more people are going to refer to this post to get those codes. Well done.
