I have a radioshack 6-in-1 (15-2133) and have programmed my remote for my sanyo TV using code (0154) and also tried (0159). Well most everything works except the menu (and I need it to get my TV from antenna to cable!). I do not have the original remote, my parents gave it to me.. they got a new one and lost the remote to this one.

So, I can press "menu" and the menu comes up, i can press menu again or exit and the menu disappears.. but I cannot change or select menu items no matter what i press. The original remote had a up/down/left/right with a select button in the middle the way the radioshack remote does.

So, my question is... how can I get these keys to work without original remote? Can someone make me a wav file update? Or another code perhaps or something?

Thanks!!

Try this to reprogram the UP and DOWN arrow keys (the LEFT and RIGHT should be correct as is):
1. Press and release TV
2. Press and hold "P" until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 994
4. Press and release "P"
5. Type 038
6. Press UP ARROW
The remote should blink twice if it accepted the programming
For DOWN arrow, repeat the above steps, and use 042 for step 5 and DOWN arrow for step 6.

If those worked, you may want to try a couple of other keys that are also not preprogrammed in the 15-2133:
TUNER = 104
PIX SHAPE = 106
RESET = 244
AUDIO = 247
CAPTION = 121

AWESOME! The up and down work now! But, the select button still doesn't!

Looking at the picture of the remote, I assume the select is ENTER in the original remote. That should be mapped to ENTER in the 15-2133. If you want to set SELECT to the same function, you can follow the same procedure as before and use:
SELECT=120

Unfortunately 120 does not work for the enter button. Yes, enter is the button that should do it (on the on screen menu it says ENTER select). I can move up and down the menu now but cannot select anything.

I tried just using enter and that didn't work. Tried mapping 120 to select, no dice there either :(

seems odd that 120 for enter doesn't work when 038 and 042 work for up/down arrows. Is it possible that I messed something up in my remote? Is there a way to reset it so all the keys are back to unprogrammed and start over?

I mean, I tried just testing the EFC code (pressing tv, (P), then hitting 120) and it didn't do anything (tried with menu open)... but hitting 119 closed the menu.

I dunno, this is driving me crazy!

errr.. actually 119 powered off the TV.

All the codes I've tried in that list have worked properly. Except 120. I did some messing around before I actually read how to set and test the EFC codes. So, I'm thinking I might have screwed something up in the remote (or the TV?). Anyway to factory reset this remote, so I can test again?

I can't think of a reason why only that one might not be working, but if you want to try resetting the remote, there are couple of types. See this post. The procedure should be the same for your remote except use "P" button for SETUP key.

Well, even after reset sending 120 did not select menu items. But, I used 173 to do a rest and when I cycled my TV's power off/on it came up and detected all my channels (which is why I wanted the menu in the first place pretty much). So.. no menu but at least I have my channels. Guess I'll get an original remote and just learn the enter key from that sometime.

Thanks for all your help!
