Hi..

I just bought a One for all URC 6131n remote control and am trying to setup the control for Haier TV and Terapin DVD player.

The Haier TV code(0768) has set the control to the TV, but its actually crazy. If i press the volume button the TV menu comes up, and if i press the channel button it navigates through the menu.

And, I could not find the code for it to control my terapin DVD player.

Can anybody help me out with this before i decide to put it back into its package and return it.

Thanks in advance,
Sneha

I would return the 6131n and replace it with 8820, it has two codes for Haier tv's, and lists one terapin dvd player. No need for me to list the codes because they aren't in the 6131n

There is an upgrade in the JP1 group for a Terapin TT-3800 DVD player. That upgrade is related to the built-in setup code DVD/0674 about the same way your Haier TV seems to be related to TV/0768.

What model is your Terapin? If it isn't the TT-3800, it might match DVD/0674 correctly or might be a third function arrangement of that, or might be something else entirely.

If it is or matches the TT-3800, then some of the functions of DVD/0674 will act as follows:

power = eject
0 = prev track
1 = 0
4 = setup
6 = display
8 = pause
9 = right
mute = left
up = power

You can use KeyMoves to rearrange the functions for the TV and/or DVD if you have a setup code with function scrambled as above. We probably can help you find the missing functions using EFC numbers (called "Key Magic" or "Advanced codes" by OneForAll).

But it may be simpler to call OneForAll customer support and get their help, probably involving mailing the 6131 in to get a couple new setup codes added to support your devices correctly.

You could list them for other experts to comment on issues such as whether the Haier TV codes can be ruled out based on the information about TV/0768 partially working.

But I'm more currious about why no such codes show up in OFA's online code search tool at
[Link: ofausa.com]

Is there a better online list? Or the paper list (which I don't have of course) is better? Or what?

Sure John, the haier tv codes listed are 1034, 0768. The Terapin dvd code is 1031. John the library of codes listed in the new 8820/10820 remotes is huge. Some even start with 2***. I have never looked on-line for setup codes, just my own manuals.

I have the TT-3800 terapin and the 8820 one-for-all. I couldn't use the dvd/1031 code. But with the learnkey function, I was able to program my remote to do everything that the original does. I haven't called customer service to see if there is a new code for the remote for terapin. But, the learning function works perfectly. Very happy with the one-for-all. If you have lost/broke your original remote, I'm sure they can either give you a working code or update.
