I have a general question about the Kameleon 8 Device All-in-One.
I am trying to set-up this remote for my Pioneer DVD Recorder which has over 50 funtions.
The Kamelon has about 30 keys in DVD mode and the scroll function does not add another page that I can use.
I would appreciate any 'tricks' that anyone would like to share that they use when the number of functions on the remote exceeds that of the Kameleon.

Thank you very much in advance.

If you want to heavily customize a Kameleon you're much better off getting a JP1 cable and pogo adapter to program your Kameleon via PC, rather than strugling with the limited programming possible from the Kameleon's keyboard.

Most OFA remotes support "shifted" functions. You invoke a shifted funtion by a short press of the P key followed by pressing the key you want shifted. The P key has different names on different models (SET or Magic, or various other names). It is the same key that you use a long press of to initiate programming the remote.

I don't recall Kameleon details, whether programming shifted functions is:
A) Impossible
B) Only possible via JP1 cable
C) Possible without JP1 cable but much easier with JP1 cable

I think the answer is (C) but I'm not certain.

JP1 may also enable other methods of supporting more than 30 functions for one device.

Are the JP1 and Pogo available at Radio Shack in Canada?
If so, what names are they sold by?
TIA.

JP1 is not sold, supported, authorised, etc. by OneForAll or Radio Shack. It is the result of end users reverse engineering the secret interface that exists in these remotes to allow factory upgrades.

You can get info from here:

including two online vendors that sell the cables as well as the design and parts list if you want to make your own cable.
