For some reason it is not direct learning codes from my old remote anymore. Both remotes have new batteries and have been trying for days. Used to be fine. Is the remote broken? Thanks.

OFa remotes have a very small learning memory, about 25 or so commands for the whole remote. It sounds like you're out of memory.
