I have been using a One for All URC 6131, which I like very much, with an older model Yamaha receiver until recently.

I bought a Yamaha DVR-S150 AV receiver with integrated DVD player a couple days ago and am unable to activate it with this remote. Unfortunately One for All's technical support is unaware of this product and none of their codes for Audio recivers, DVD or CD players work with it.

I then bought a One for All URC-8910 hoping to use its learning mode to operate this device and, while this worked, it is awkward to use since the power on/off, volume - and volume + all require separate learning keys from the standard device and volume keys.

What I need is:

Does anyone know the device codes for power on/off and volume up/down
for the Yahama DVR-S150 or,

Know how to retrieve the device codes from the Learning Keys on the
URC-8910?

I can then provide this information to All for One and have them reprogram my URC-6131. This is my preferred solution.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The best solution to your problem would be to get or build a jp1 cable, download the software (free), and build a "device upgrade" yourself. You could then load it to a modified 6131 and be all set.

Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to solder or wants to bother with building the cable, learning the software (not hard, but does take a few hours), and modifying their 6131.

So the short answer is that no, I don't think there is a way to retrieve that information (learned signals) without jp1.

The good news is that, if you learn all of the signals that you want transferred (or up to the learning limit of the remote) and send the remote to OFA along with a list of what signals you learned to what buttons, OFA can take the remote you sent them and build you a device upgrade.

The bad news is that you will have to send them your 6131 to have them load it.

The good news is that they will trash yours and give you one that is jp1 capable from the factory.

The bad news is that they will trash yours, and any configs or customizations (keymoves, macros) you already have in it.

The good news is that it can be done.

The bad news is that it will be a lot of effort.

BUT the best news is that there are a lot of people who know the software, have the cables, can solder, and may be willing to modify your remote for you. You can find them in the jp1 forum. [Link: hifi-remote.com]
