Hi

Could someone be kind enough to tell me if the URC 9960 or the URC 6960 Remotes would work the TOSHIBA DR-2 and PANASONIC DMR-ES1- DVD RECORDERS.

Does anyone know what remote does work these units ?

I have the URC-8910, it was sent back twice to to upgrade.
They were very nice, I am sure they tried thier best.

However, they were NOT able to get it to work my DVD Recorders.

Thank You
NYSOFTWAREMAN

I don't know about the Toshiba, but many Panasonic DMR-xxx model DVRs support mutiple remote control addresses, usually 3 different ones configured through the set up menu. Maybe your unit is set up for a non-default RC address. How many codes did One-for-All customer service give you, and did you try them all?

Oops. I just see now that John and Edmund replied at length to your other post. Ignore the above, you are clearly beyond that point.

I came across your thread while looking to see if anyone knew the right code for the URC 8810 to use with the Panasonic ES10. I have learned a tip which may help you out.

Contrary to published info, any button on the controller can be a "learning" button, not just L1-L4. In your instructions ([Link: ofausa.com]) there are instructions for "programming a learning key." Instead of using the device key (dvd, tv, etc.) and L1-L4, use device key (dvd) and whatever key you want (play, rec, etc.). Easy as pie. Probably the best thing to do (which I am about to do, if there's no perfect code) is to find the code that works the best, then just learn the few commands that don't work. I had a dvd player, though, where I had to teach it every code, and that took a few minutes... But, it can be done...

Hope this helps.

Has anyone tried the URC-8910 with the ILO DVDR04HD DVD Recorder (Walmart). If ever there was a original remote that needs replacing, this is the one. It is simply unuseable - small closely spaced buttons and poorly laid out (number keys at the very top, etc). This may a really big challenge. Thanks.
