Hey all,
Just got a kameleon 6-in-1 (15-2133) and I'm trying to find the codes to control my onkyo tx-sr501 and my pace dc-550 cable box (comcast high def digital cable box). I've looked through the forums and haven't been able to successfully turn anything up (tried code 1068 for the pace box and that does the grand total of turning it on and off and that's it).

I plan on calling customer support tomorrow but I want to make sure I get the correct thing from them. Any suggestions?

thanks!

The onkyo code is AUD 0135, but try the code and all the keys with receiver on, you're probably be able to turn the receiver off. That command is in another setup code 0842, which isn't in the 2133. I have no idea what code is for the pace, sorry.

edmund,
thanks! - not sure I'm totally clear though on what you mean, do you mean that the 0135 code will cover the remote commands but won't be able to turn the receiver on (i.e., can only turn it off?) - not quite sure what the 0842 code is (do you mean that is the code that allows full functionality of the onkyo but it isn't available in the 2133 at all/ever?)
thanks much!

oh, also, in some of the searching I did, a few people mentioned using the code for the onkyo tx-sr601 to get full functionality, is that the same as the 0135 code you provided or is it something different (i.e., a backup if 0135 doesn't cover everything perhaps?).

Maybe. It depends on your receiver. Some receivers will turn on with a device selection. My Marantz turns on when I send the device select command, which is convenient, as it saves a step.

If the receiver doesn't support the above mentioned Power On trick, and only turns on with the Power command, then you would have to have OFA upgrade your remote over the phone or use jp1 to get that setup code.

I screwed up that line, I meant that you probably WON'T be able to power it off, because that command is in AUD code 0842. Along with the DVD command. You can call and have code 0842 loaded over the phone to your 2133.

edmund, thanks much - I ended up calling customer support and these are the following codes that they "downloaded" to my remote:
code 1320 for the onkyo tx-sr501
code 1877 for the pace dc550
I haven't been able to check them yet so I hope they work. If they don't I've been trying to read up on creating wav files to program the remote from my comp. speakers (don't want to build/buy a jp1 cable if I can avoid it).

thanks much for the help!

just a heads up for folks, code 1320 does work but not well - the number keys on the 15-2133 are supposed to control the inputs for the receiver (stock remote has direct input access, e.g., no need to cycle through inputs to reach one), however, on the 15-2133 about half the number keys go to the same input and then another few go to nothing so one only has access to about 3 of the inputs that way. A tv/vcr button is available at the bottom of the 15-2133 is available and this does cycle through the inputs but unfortunately the ability to directly access the inputs is lost.

-Anyone have information/tutorials on loading data to the 15-2133 using wav files on the computer?
thanks!
