Hi All,

I have the opportunity to purchase a Denon 2200 dvd player for a killer price, but it does not have a remote. I have a Radio Shack 15-1994 remote, and I was wondering if I can program in the device codes for this unit. Unfortunately I need to make a decision today, so hopefully someone can help me out.

Thanks
Greg

There isn't code for Denon dvd player in the 1994. But can't you pick up a newer universal remote?

There is not a code built in, but there is a Pronto file for it, which could be converted to a file uploadable by jp1. Not only could you get a nice DVD player, you could also learn about a whole new element of your remote! (www.hifi-remote.com)

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Can I teach the remote individual commands though. I know it takes up more space, but I will ultimately be using my MX-500 remote which I am sure you know only learns through copying an existing remote.

Thanks
Greg

If you have remote with the commands, you can teach both the 1994 & mx-500, but isn't that the problem, you don't have a remote?

That is exactly the problem. Maybe I misunderstood the previous replies. I thought that maybe I wouldn't be able to punch in one code that will automatically teach all of the functions, but from a list, I could individually punch in each function code to the 1994 and then transfer them to the mx-500.

Sorry, I really don't mean to be so dense, but finding a solution would be a huge help.

If you have the mx-500 already, it has a code, 007, 080. If you were hoping the 1994 will give you discretes or something, forget about it. It needs a preset code, which it doesn't have unless you hack it via JP1.
