Here is my situation... My original TV remote is dead. The only way to get the guide tv working was to use my OFA learning remote to learn from the now dead remote so I do have Guide TV working with a button on my OFA learning remote and the setup was backed up via JP1.

Now, I want to buy another OFA remote but fear I will never get the guide tv button working. If I buy another learning OFA remote can it learn a learned button from my other OFA?

Thanks in advance.

Edmund,
First of all, thanks for the reply. Now a question.
I think I found my problem. I am trying to learn from a OFA Cimena 7 and the instructions say to hold setup until it blinks twice...no problem there.
Then, hit 975 and it should blink twice...THAT is where the problem is. After hitting 975 the light comes on solid for 2-3 seconds and then turns off, it does not blink at all. I put fresh batteries in with the same result. That is why I can't learn the key from this remote I guess. Any ideas?

You might be out of memory, UEI remotes can only learn about 25 or so commands or the whole remote.

Hmm, I haven't learned many keys with it but you may be right. Is there an easy way to clear the memory? If there is someting that would clear the entire thing that would be cool.

Thanks!

If you reset the remote it will not only clear learned commands but any macros, keymoves or whatever too.

1. press and hold SET for two blinks
2. enter 9-8-0

You are the man...it worked like a charm. All is well in remote-land now.

Thanks Edmund!
