I bought an OFA 8910 in order to get the advanced codes for discrete inputs for my Sony TV. Found the instructions for inputting the advanced codes, but I'm having trouble assigning the codes to a button--any button.

On the instructions I found, they say to hold the SET or Magic button until the red LED blinks twice...well, on my 8910, the LED never blinks and just goes to CODE SET and gives me an "Invalid" message on the screen when I try to input 994. I know the advanced codes work, because when I test them, the signal is sent to my TV and the input changes, but if I can't assign the codes to buttons on the remote, that's pretty much no good to me. Any help will be much appreciated!

The LCD models, such as the 8910 don't use those 9XX codes for getting to configuration actions. They have names (KEYMOVR in this case) that can be reached by scrolling after you get the CODE SET prompt.

Within KEYMOVR most of the prompts make sense, except when it is time to press the source key for an advanced code you should do a short press of P to get it to promt SYNT, then key in the 3 digit EFC number.

The detailed instruction are in several other threads in this forum. If I abbreviated SYNT or KEYMOVR correctly, you could find those instructions by searching those keywords.
