Does anybody know if it is possible to enter discreet codes into this model and, if so, how is it done?

Also can this one use the JP1 cable for programming?

Thanks for any input

Yup

Check it out on their Web Site

Might be new, and I can't figure it out from the description?

Oh, I bought a 8820 off of ebay, should get it in couple of days. looks similar, but I guess the difference is the # of devices.

If it takes advanced codes, they will be 5 digit, instead of the 3. so if you find a list, you'll need to add two zeroes to the FRONT of each.

Thanks Edmund - sounds hopeful if you think the 8820 can do it. Can you give me a quick rundown on how you get the codes into the 8820?

I've got most of the discreets I need (except for Broadband TV box, which has no manufacturers model or brand - I'm in Hong Kong!) and if it works, I'll hunt down the rest.

These are the directions for other non-lcd UEI remotes:

1. press the device
2. press and hold SETUP, SET, or whatever its called on the new remotes, for two blinks
3. enter 9-9-4
4. tap SETUP for one blink
5. enter 5 digit advanced code
6. pick a key

Just FYI,

These new OFA remotes do not work with current JP1 tools. The use a different Microprocessor.

Rob can tell you if anyone is working on support for these new gen UEI chips.
