I am now left with a pretty sweet Phillips (dont
know the specifics) and thought it would be a
piece of cake to get a universal remote control
Phillips TV's are pretty consistent about their IR signals. I would expect most "universal" remotes to get that right.
I bought a cheap Matsui remote
store and besides being able to program the tv
to turn on and off and change channels, I cant
tune a thing!
What does "tune" mean? My best guess is you are saying the CH+ and CH- work but digits for direct tuning don't. But Philips is MOST consistent about the digit keys, so that really makes no sense.
I know nothing about Matsui remotes, so I have no clue whether:
1) You configured it wrong
2) It lacks support for basic functions of a common Philips TV
3) Your Philips TV isn't as close to the basic set of IR code sets as I'd expect.
4) You TV is broken.
