I just got the URC 9960. And I was wondering if anyone can help my set up my dvd recorder... ILO(DVDR04) and my RCA CD Player 5 disk(RS1289). I have successfully set up three other things, but not been able to set these two devices up.

I am mostly concerned about the CD Player. I have tried the codes 1062, 0032, and 0420. But none of those work. I have even done the Search function on the remote to no success! Does anyone know of any more codes that would work!

Now on my DVD Recorder I don't even see this brand in the User's Guide. Thus the reason not being able to set it up with the remote.

Thanks.

You might need to have codes loaded over the phone to the 9960. Older RCA cd player codes include 0179, 0305, or 0053.

Your DVD shlould respond to One-for-All DVD code 1348. You will probably have to get that downloaded by calling customer service, doubt if it is standard in the 9960.

Regarding your CD player, is it a standalone player or part of a compact shelf system? Reason I ask is that while I am not famliar with that particular model number, in my experience many of the RCA models that start with "RS" are shelf systems. If it is, when you call One-for-All customer service be sure and tell them that -- there may be additional codes other than those you have already tried which apply specifically to combo systems.

I knew the codes I gave you weren't in the 9960, thats why i said you'll need to have them loaded into the remote. I'm finished here.

Maybe akabobo19 didn't understand the fact that a 9960 can be upgraded by a .wav file played through a telephone (or PC) speaker.

OFA customer support won't give you .wav files for a 9960 to play via your PC's speaker. But they will play the .wav file for you over then phone (so have the 9960 with you when you call).

Usually they know which setup code you'l need for a given device and model. But in case they don't, Edmund and Alfaman's suggestions of setup codes should help.

Setup codes must be combined in the .wav file before it is played (each .wav file loaded replaces all previous ones). So if you get one device right while still chasing the other, you need the first one re-included each time they try something for the other device.
