Hi, and thank you for being here! Hope you can help!

I have been given a Sony TV (kv-20ts20), but the doner lost the remote. Unfortunately, the TV is set in Spanish mode, and I have to access the menu to change it back to English, but alas, no remote. And in all honesty, I cannot afford the remote that sony is offering as a replacement.

I've been looking through the site here, and it seems the OFA 8810, which I can purchase right here at walmart, might be a solution.

Am I right in assuming that, and will it work without the original remote?

If it does work, will I need 2 remotes?

And if this is a solution, could someone please explain how it would be done? I looked at the manual for the 8810 and I can't figure it out, nor do I see any reference to advanced or discreet codes.

I have tried to figure out some of the references about the 8810 here, but have not had much luck, don't understand them, and feel very stupid. lol I hope someone can help with some simplern direcito;, or perhaps give another solution. Once I can get back into English mode, I can use any universal for the channels, etc.

Thank you so much!

The 8810w should work without the help of advanced codes. The menu command is already mapped using setup code 0000.
